In your main job, are you an hourly employee, a salaried employee, or do you get paid by the job?  Hourly employee means you get paid by the hours you work, salaried employee means you get paid on a regular schedule and you receive a pre-determined amount on each pay date, and getting paid by the job means you get paid a pre-determined amount upon completion of a task or project.
