Imagine that you have a high school-age child. Many colleges and universities use SAT scores to decide which students to admit. About 3% of high school seniors go on to attend a top-100 ranked college. SAT prep classes allow high school students applying to college to improve their results on the SAT. Assume that you could raise the likelihood of having a child who attends a top-100 college to 5% (from 3%) by using this service. Imagine that this SAT prep service is free, and on average it is used by 1 out of every 10 people who currently have high school-age children.
