Abstract
Less than half of caretakers with children at risk of being chronically absent report being concerned about it. While some parents feel that having online materials available mitigates some of the anxiety around absences, caretakers do still report strongly valuing in-person attendance. Online resources are useful for expanding learning opportunities, but schools must impress upon parents that they are a supplement to, not a substitute for, in-person attendance.
