Individuals enrolled in Medicare Part B are entitled to a Welcome to Medicare Visit within 12 months of enrolling and an annual wellness visit (AWV) ever year thereafter. The Welcome to Medicare Visit includes a review of your health and medical history as well as education and counseling about the preventive services you need, like certain screenings, shots, and referrals for other care. The AWV is a yearly appointment that updates your personal prevention plan.
