Routing for UAS471

w_intro
The purpose of this survey is to understand how people in America balance job demands at work with activities performed during their leisure time, and how this influences their retirement choices and health.

This is a two-part survey. The first part will ask you questions about your current work, or if you are not currently working about a previous job.

For the second part we are asking you to keep a time diary for one day, starting tomorrow. We will ask you to list what you are doing during the day and we will ask some questions about your activities. The diary will start at 4AM tomorrow until 4AM the day after. We will give you more details of the time diary at the end of this survey.

Thank you for completing the first part of this survey. Before you go, we would like to give you a short overview of the time diary you will be asked to keep tomorrow.

We are going to ask about the activities you perform over a 24-hour period, divided in 15-minute time slots and starting at 4 am. You will be asked to specify the start and end times for each activity, which may last for one or more 15-minute slots.

We are specifically interested in understanding activities related to your work (if you do any), so we will treat work activities and non-work activities slightly differently. For non-work activities, you will be asked to select a broad activity from a drop-down menu, and then a more specific activity from a follow-up drop-down list. For almost all activities (except sleeping and grooming), we will ask you a few follow-up questions: who you were with, where you were, and how stressful and mentally and physically demanding you found the activity.

For work activities, instead of selecting specific activities from a drop-down menu, you will be asked to divide your work time into a series of specific work activities that you describe briefly in your own words. The follow-up questions will be the same as the ones asked for non-work activities.

The survey to complete the second part will be available tomorrow morning starting at 4am. You can complete it throughout the day if you wish; there’s no need to wait until the end of the day.
